Audi India is set to launch the third-generation Q3 on October 16, 2026, marking a significant technological and design overhaul for the brand's entry-level luxury SUV in the country. The new model will replace the second-generation Q3, which has been sold in India for the past four years, and will continue to be locally assembled to help maintain competitive pricing in the premium compact SUV segment. The upcoming launch also holds broader significance for Audi's India strategy, as the Q3 is reportedly set to lead a wider rollout of new products from the German automaker over the coming months. According to available reports, the new Q3 is expected to be powered by a 2.0-litre direct-injection turbocharged petrol engine producing approximately 204 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Power will reportedly be sent to all four wheels through Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system, which is expected to remain a standard feature across the range, continuing to differentiate the Q3 from key rivals such as the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA, both of which are currently offered with front-wheel-drive configurations in India. The SUV is expected to achieve a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of around 7.1 seconds, with a top speed in the region of 229 km/h. Reports suggest fuel efficiency figures of approximately 12.36 km/l under WLTP testing standards, giving prospective buyers an early indication of the vehicle's real-world efficiency alongside its performance credentials. On the design front, the new Q3 represents a notable departure from its predecessor, featuring a split-headlamp setup for the first time in the model's history, paired with a wider, more upright grille and configurable LED daytime running lights.
The main headlamp units have reportedly been relocated to the bumper area, contributing to the SUV's more distinctive and aggressive front-end appearance compared to the outgoing generation. The SUV is also expected to be slightly larger than the current model, measuring approximately 4,531 mm in length, 1,859 mm in width and 1,623 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,681 mm, making it noticeably larger across its key dimensions than its predecessor. Additional exterior elements are expected to include body-coloured cladding, a chrome beltline, 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels, black trim across the side windows and rear windscreen, and a full-width rear LED light bar featuring an illuminated Audi logo at its center, along with segmented taillamps on either side for a more modern rear appearance.

Inside, the new Q3 is expected to feature a significantly upgraded and more technology-focused cabin, anchored by a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system alongside an 11.9-inch fully digital instrument cluster. Other anticipated features include a head-up display, a panoramic sunroof, three-zone automatic climate control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, and a 12-speaker Sonos-branded premium sound system. Reports also suggest that Audi has relocated the transmission selector to the steering column in this generation, freeing up additional storage space within the center console, a layout change consistent with recent design trends seen across other Volkswagen Group models.
On the safety front, the SUV is expected to come equipped with seven airbags, a 360-degree camera system, and Level 2 advanced driver-assistance features, reflecting Audi's broader push toward more comprehensive safety and convenience packages across its global model lineup. Boot space is expected to come in at around 488 litres, offering a modest improvement in practicality over the outgoing model. While Audi has not yet released an official variant-wise price list, the new Q3 is widely expected to be priced between roughly Rs 55 lakh and Rs 60 lakh (ex-showroom), representing a premium over the outgoing model's price range of Rs 43.67 lakh to Rs 53 lakh. Audi India has already opened bookings for the new SUV, allowing prospective buyers to reserve a unit with a booking amount of Rs 1 lakh ahead of the official October launch date.
Beyond the Q3 itself, the launch is expected to mark the beginning of a broader product offensive for Audi in India, with the German automaker reportedly planning to follow the Q3 with the launch of the new A5 sedan in the first half of 2027, and its flagship Q9 SUV expected to arrive in the second half of that year. This suggests that the Q3's arrival is not an isolated event, but rather the opening move in a more sustained push by Audi to refresh and expand its India lineup across multiple segments in the coming years, aiming to strengthen its position in the increasingly competitive luxury vehicle market in the country.
