Royal Enfield has begun dispatches of its upcoming Bullet 650 motorcycle, signalling that the official launch of the model is imminent as the company continues to strengthen its position in India’s premium motorcycle segment. The development marks a significant step in expanding the iconic Bullet brand into the 650cc category, amid sustained demand for higher-capacity motorcycles in both domestic and international markets.
The Bullet 650 was first showcased at EICMA 2025 in Milan and has since remained one of the most anticipated additions to Royal Enfield’s portfolio. The model is expected to join the company’s existing 650cc lineup, which includes the Interceptor, Continental GT, Super Meteor, Shotgun and Bear. Company officials have confirmed that dispatch activity has already begun, indicating that market rollout is nearing completion.
Royal Enfield Chief Executive Officer B Govindarajan confirmed the development during Eicher Motors Ltd’s FY26 earnings call, stating that the motorcycle is set for launch soon. The Bullet nameplate, one of the company’s oldest and most recognisable brands, is now being extended into the premium segment as part of Royal Enfield’s broader strategy to transition from entry-level commuter motorcycles to lifestyle-oriented models.

The move comes at a time when demand for premium motorcycles is growing steadily in India despite broader economic pressures such as inflation and rising input costs. Industry observers note that Royal Enfield’s 650cc platform has been central to its recent growth, helping the company attract younger buyers who are increasingly opting for higher-performance motorcycles over traditional commuter bikes.
According to company data, Royal Enfield sold over 1.1 million motorcycles in India during FY26, while international sales grew by around 20% over the same period. The company also highlighted that a significant portion of its customer base is now under the age of 25, reflecting a demographic shift driving demand for aspirational motorcycles across segments.
To support this growth trajectory, Royal Enfield is expanding its manufacturing capacity, which is expected to reach 1.64 million units by July and further scale up to around 2 million units through expansion at its Cheyyar facility in Tamil Nadu. The company has also signed an agreement for a future greenfield plant in Andhra Pradesh as part of its long-term production strategy.
