Indofast Energy, a leading battery swapping solutions provider, announced a strategic partnership with Bike Bazaar, a fleet operator and mobility financier, to deploy 5,000 electric two-wheelers across India within the next 18 months.
The initiative targets high-demand sectors such as quick commerce, e-commerce, and food delivery, aiming to enhance operational efficiency and reduce the carbon footprint of last-mile delivery. By expanding its battery-swapping network to key corridors and emerging regions, Indofast Energy seeks to minimize downtime and operating costs for fleet operators, ensuring seamless delivery operations.
The partnership aligns with India’s push for sustainable mobility, empowering gig economy workers with cost-effective and eco-friendly transport solutions. Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President of Indofast Energy, emphasized that the deployment will not only streamline delivery operations but also significantly contribute to reducing carbon emissions.
Karunakaran Vadakkepat, Co-founder and Joint Managing Director of Bike Bazaar, highlighted the collaboration’s role in fostering a greener and more inclusive mobility ecosystem, supporting gig workers with reliable and affordable electric vehicles (EVs).
Indofast Energy’s broader EV initiatives include a collaboration with Zypp Electric to deploy 100,000 electric two-wheelers, a partnership with Motovolt to integrate battery-swapping with MVS7 scooters, and the establishment of 80 swap stations across 25 railway hubs with Indian Railways.
Additionally, the company is working with EVeez to deploy 20,000 e-bikes and with Green Tiger Mobility for petrol-to-electric retrofit solutions. This partnership with Bike Bazaar marks a significant step toward accelerating EV adoption and building a sustainable future for India’s mobility landscape.
