Xiaomi is set to unveil its new Xiaomi 17T smartphone series globally on May 28, while the standard Xiaomi 17T is scheduled to launch in India on June 4. The upcoming lineup is expected to include the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro models for international markets, although reports currently suggest that only the base variant may arrive in India initially. The launch marks the return of Xiaomi’s T-series lineup to the Indian market after a significant gap.
The company has already teased several camera-focused features developed in partnership with Leica Camera, indicating a strong emphasis on mobile photography. Leaks and retail listings have revealed several expected specifications, including high-refresh-rate AMOLED displays, flagship-level MediaTek chipsets, upgraded camera systems, and large battery capacities. The Xiaomi 17T is expected to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra processor, while the Pro variant could be powered by the more advanced Dimensity 9500 chipset.
Reports suggest that both smartphones may come equipped with 120Hz AMOLED displays and run Android 16-based HyperOS 3 out of the box. The devices are also expected to focus heavily on imaging performance, with Leica-tuned camera systems and improved computational photography features. Battery upgrades and faster charging support are likely to be among the key highlights as Xiaomi continues competing in the premium smartphone segment against brands such as Samsung, OnePlus, and Vivo.
