Apple is gearing up to launch a low-cost MacBook in March 2026, aiming to attract students and budget-conscious buyers while expanding its market share. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the new model will bring a “fun” element to Apple laptops through vibrant colour options, a departure from the company’s traditional muted designs.
The MacBook is expected to feature shades like blue, pink, light green, and light yellow alongside classic silver and dark grey. While it’s unclear which colours will appear in the final lineup, the move signals Apple’s focus on appealing to younger users and first-time Mac buyers.
Powered by the A18 Pro chip—already used in the iPhone 16 Pro series—the device will offer solid performance while remaining more affordable than MacBook Air and Pro models. This choice ensures compatibility with Apple’s ecosystem while keeping the price lower than the premium M-series laptops.
