Teenage batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has taken a significant step in his rapidly rising cricket career after receiving his first senior Team India jersey ahead of the upcoming T20I tours of Ireland and England. The 15-year-old prodigy, who earned national selection following his impressive performances in the Indian Premier League, was visibly emotional as he was presented with the coveted India jersey, a moment he described as the fulfilment of a lifelong dream.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) shared a video capturing the special occasion in which Sooryavanshi received his jersey from the team's throwdown specialist Raghu. Wearing the national colours is considered the ultimate achievement for aspiring cricketers, and the young batter admitted that the experience left him overwhelmed. The jersey presentation took place at the team hotel as preparations continued for the Ireland series.
Speaking in the video, Sooryavanshi said representing India had been his dream since the day he first picked up a cricket bat. He explained that years of practice and hard work had been driven by the ambition of one day wearing the national jersey. According to the youngster, seeing the India shirt in front of him was a surreal moment that felt more like a dream than reality.

The teenager also revealed that he struggled to process the emotions associated with the milestone. He said there are moments in life that seem impossible until they happen, and when they finally do, it becomes difficult to find the right reaction. Sooryavanshi admitted that he could not stop smiling after seeing the jersey and was left speechless by the significance of the occasion.
While selection in the squad marks a major achievement, Sooryavanshi still faces a challenge in securing a place in India's playing eleven. The youngster will compete with established players such as Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan for opening positions in the T20I side. Team management will have several options available as they finalise combinations for the upcoming series.
Adding further significance to the moment, Sooryavanshi was handed the iconic No. 3 jersey, a number previously worn by Indian cricket stars Harbhajan Singh and Suresh Raina. As one of the country's most promising young talents, the teenager now stands on the verge of making his senior international debut, with fans eager to see whether he can replicate his domestic and IPL success on the global stage.
