Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the Yamkeshwar region of Uttarakhand along with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, where the two leaders jointly inaugurated and laid foundation stones for several development projects focused on education, infrastructure, and regional growth. The visit drew significant public attention, particularly as Yogi Adityanath also travelled to his ancestral village Panchur during the programme.
The visit began with both Chief Ministers offering prayers at the historic Shiva temple in Yamkeshwar. The leaders prayed for peace, prosperity, and the well-being of the nation and its citizens before proceeding to public events in the region. Officials said the spiritual and developmental aspects of the visit were intended to highlight the cultural significance of the area alongside ongoing efforts to improve local infrastructure and public facilities.
At Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath Government College in Bithyani, the two leaders laid the foundation stone for multiple projects and interacted with students and faculty members. The college administration and students welcomed the Chief Ministers enthusiastically, while floral tributes were offered to the statue of Guru Gorakhnath. During the event, the leaders also digitally launched the institution’s new AI-based website, designed to modernise academic administration and improve access to educational resources.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath later travelled to Panchur, his ancestral village, where he participated in the Vishnu Mahayagya alongside family members and local residents. Addressing the gathering, he expressed gratitude to the temple committee and noted the transformation of the site from a traditional place of worship into a larger and more developed temple complex. He also encouraged young people to embrace positive thinking and spirituality, saying devotion and discipline help individuals remain focused and achieve meaningful goals in life.
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, speaking during the programme, praised Yogi Adityanath’s leadership and highlighted the state government’s focus on education and youth development. Dhami announced that Bithyani College would be upgraded into an “Ideal College” equipped with modern facilities. He also confirmed that work on a mini stadium in the region would begin soon as part of efforts to strengthen sports infrastructure and create better opportunities for students and local youth.
Dhami further said the Uttarakhand government is working to provide world-class educational and sporting facilities across the state, particularly in rural and hill regions. He stressed that welfare and development schemes are being implemented with the aim of ensuring benefits reach all sections of society. Officials stated that the visit underscored the governments’ combined emphasis on balancing cultural heritage, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development in the Himalayan region.
