A delivery boy was killed early Saturday morning after allegedly being struck by a speeding car in the Subhash Nagar area of West Delhi, police confirmed. The incident occurred around 3:00 am, leaving the young worker dead at the scene. Authorities said the victim was on his delivery route when the collision took place, highlighting ongoing concerns over road safety in the city.
Delhi Police have taken the accused driver into custody and seized the vehicle involved in the incident. Officials said the accused is cooperating with investigators as further details are being gathered. The police also confirmed that no other passengers were involved in the collision and that the case is being treated as a serious traffic violation resulting in death.
This accident adds to a growing number of road fatalities in Delhi, particularly involving two-wheeler riders and delivery personnel who often work during night hours. The police have urged drivers to follow speed limits and traffic regulations, emphasising that reckless driving can have deadly consequences for both motorists and pedestrians.

Investigators are reviewing CCTV footage from the area and collecting eyewitness accounts to reconstruct the sequence of events leading to the crash. Forensic examination of the vehicle and the scene is also underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. Authorities said they will take strict action if negligence or criminal intent is established.
The incident comes shortly after a similar accident near Lal Bahadur Shastri College in Dwarka South, where a man was killed after his motorcycle was hit by a car allegedly driven by a juvenile without a licence. Police have highlighted these cases as part of a larger crackdown on reckless and unlicensed driving in Delhi.
Families and local residents have expressed concern over the rising number of accidents involving delivery workers, urging the government to implement stricter safety measures. Police officials have assured the public that preventive steps, including awareness campaigns and stricter enforcement of traffic rules, will be intensified to avoid further tragedies on Delhi roads.
