The Indian Embassy in Riyadh acted swiftly after the CBSE cancelled all Class 12 exams across seven West Asian countries—Bahrain, Iran, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE—due to regional security concerns. Deputy Chief of Mission Abu Mathen George held a virtual meeting with CBSE school principals to address concerns among students, parents, and educators. First Secretary Vipul Bawa joined to provide guidance on the situation. No new dates for the exams have been announced yet.
The CBSE circular scrapped all Class 12 exams scheduled from March 16 to April 10, including tests that had already been postponed. Earlier, Class 10 exams were also cancelled due to the worsening security situation. Thousands of Indian students in the region are affected by these disruptions. The move prioritizes safety amid ongoing Middle East tensions.
CISCE also cancelled ICSE and ISC exams in the UAE, with schools starting spring break early from March 9 to March 22. Dr Joseph Emmanuel, CISCE chief, confirmed that results will be determined through an alternative assessment method. Details of the evaluation process will be shared later. This ensures students’ academic progress is not compromised.

The embassy emphasized student safety and support for the Indian community in West Asia. These measures aim to balance security concerns with academic continuity.
