A routine online gambling session turned deadly in Sisodara village, Navsari district, when a 43-year-old man from Uttar Pradesh was brutally killed after being accused of cheating in a Rs 30,000 game. The victim, identified as Dishar Khan, had travelled from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, to Gujarat with a friend to participate in the online gaming session. Sources said tensions flared when other participants accused him of manipulating the game to win money. The confrontation quickly escalated, and Khan was tied upside down to a tree and beaten with sticks, leading to his death at the scene.
Six individuals, all residents of Gujarat, were arrested by Navsari police in connection with the incident. Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused had longstanding connections with Khan through online gambling networks. Among them are Mohammed Nazim Mulla from Mumbai and Parvez Multani from Valsad, who had been interacting with Khan and other players over the past few years.
Police officials have described the case as a “heinous act of vigilante justice” and confirmed that it will be investigated under charges of murder and abetment. Investigators are also examining the broader online gambling network to determine if there were any premeditated plans leading up to the fatal assault.
