The 72-year-old legislator, representing Dharmanagar constituency in North Tripura district, had been undergoing intensive medical treatment in the southern city after his condition deteriorated rapidly.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed deep sorrow over Sen's demise, highlighting the late leader's unwavering dedication to Tripura's development and his passionate involvement in various social welfare initiatives. In a post on X, the Prime Minister extended heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and supporters, emphasizing Sen's lasting contributions to the region's progress and praying for peace for the departed soul.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha described the loss as irreparable for the party and the state, conveying profound shock and grief in a Facebook message. In a solemn gesture of respect, the state government has declared a three-day period of state mourning commencing Friday, with all government offices, educational institutions, schools, and colleges remaining closed on the day of his passing.
