A harrowing incident has shaken the Swaroop Nagar neighborhood of outer north Delhi, where a seven-year-old girl was discovered dead with her throat slit inside her home.
The grim discovery was made on Saturday evening, March 29, when a police patrolling team noticed a crowd gathered outside the residence, prompting an immediate investigation.
According to authorities, a head constable from the patrol unit entered the house and found the girl unconscious, surrounded by blood. He quickly notified the local Swaroop Nagar police station and senior officers, triggering a rapid response. Additional teams descended on the scene to secure the area and launch a probe into the chilling crime.
CCTV footage from nearby cameras has provided a crucial lead, capturing the girl’s father, Prem Singh, 32, and his associate Ranjit leaving the vicinity around the time of the murder. Singh, a daily wage laborer originally from Patna, Bihar, is now a prime suspect alongside Ranjit. Police have intensified efforts to apprehend the duo, who remain at large as of Monday morning.
Singh’s wife, Muskan, 32, works at a factory in Libaspur, Delhi, and the couple has another daughter, aged nine. The family’s modest home turned into a crime scene, meticulously examined by forensic and crime investigation units.
The child’s body was transported to BJRM Hospital in Jahangirpuri for a post-mortem to determine further details of her death.
The incident has cast a pall over Swaroop Nagar, with authorities working to uncover the motive behind this brutal act. As the investigation unfolds, the focus remains on tracking down Singh and Ranjit to bring justice to the young victim and her grieving family.
