The sudden death of 23-year-old Sadhvi Prem Baisa has raised serious questions, leaving her followers and local residents in shock. She reportedly collapsed after being administered an injection at her Jodhpur ashram on January 28 and was declared brought dead at Praksha Hospital. Her father, Veeram Nath, initially resisted taking her body for a post-mortem, delaying the formal investigation.
Prem Baisa, a popular religious storyteller and Nath tradition follower, was buried in her native village Pareu, Rajasthan, in a sitting position as per local customs. Hundreds of devotees gathered for her last rites, testifying to her widespread popularity and influence in western Rajasthan. The post-mortem report is still pending, and authorities are awaiting its conclusion before proceeding further.
Eyewitnesses described unusual scenes at the ashram, with her father sitting in a car holding her body late into the night while speaking on the phone. Police intervened to ensure the body was taken to the hospital for a proper post-mortem. ACP Jodhpur Chavi Sharma confirmed that the investigation would include examination of her phone and statements from close associates to piece together the events leading to her death.

Born to a truck driver and a devout mother in Pareu, Prem Baisa lost her mother at a young age and was raised by her father under the Nath Panth tradition. She began giving religious discourses at age 12 and, over the years, built multiple ashrams alongside her father, including those in Boranada, Jodhpur, and Pareu. Her rise as a spiritual influencer brought both admiration and controversy.
The circumstances of her death have intensified after it was revealed that CCTV cameras in the Jodhpur ashram were removed, raising questions about what footage may have existed. Police have questioned the compounder who administered the injection and are preparing to interrogate other key witnesses once the post-mortem report is finalized.
Her father, Veeram Nath, confirmed that a social media post appearing hours after her death was published according to her final wish, asking for justice. He expressed heartbreak over the incident and claimed that Prem Baisa’s last words indicated she sought resolution for perceived injustices, a statement that has become central to ongoing police investigations.
