A small aircraft crashed on a highway in Laredo, Texas, late Tuesday night, sparking a fire and prompting a dramatic rescue effort by first responders and bystanders. The crash occurred near Loop 20 shortly after 10 p.m., according to local authorities, and quickly drew attention after videos from the scene circulated widely on social media.

Footage shared online showed the aircraft lying on its side against a highway barrier while flames engulfed parts of the wreckage. In one video, emergency personnel and civilians can be seen attempting to gain access to the cockpit by breaking a window, apparently in an effort to assist those trapped inside. The incident caused significant disruption on the roadway as traffic came to a halt and motorists left their vehicles to help.

Jose Baeza, an investigator with the Laredo Police Department, said six people were on board the aircraft at the time of the crash. Despite the severity of the accident and the fire that followed, authorities reported that no fatalities occurred. Officials also said there were no immediate reports of injuries among occupants of vehicles traveling on the highway when the plane went down.

The crash led authorities to close Loop 20 in both directions as emergency crews responded to the scene. Among those who witnessed the incident was Zayra Garza, an esthetician who was driving coworkers home when she came across the crash site. She stopped her vehicle and recorded videos showing the burning aircraft and the rescue efforts underway. The footage has since gained attention online, highlighting the intensity of the scene and the rapid response from emergency personnel.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the crash to determine the circumstances that led to the aircraft coming down on one of the city's major roadways. While questions remain about the cause, officials noted that the absence of fatalities in such a dramatic accident was a remarkable outcome amid a potentially catastrophic situation.
