Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma has approved strict action against three police and prison department officials over alleged negligence and irregularities in the discharge of their official duties. The state government said the action reflects its commitment to maintaining law and order, ensuring accountability and improving discipline in public administration.
The Chief Minister approved the immediate suspension of Saroj Bishnoi, Deputy Superintendent posted at the Women’s Correctional Home in Jaipur. She has also been transferred from Jaipur headquarters to Bharatpur. Complaints against the officer alleged that she allowed a female inmate to stay with her and interfere in official work, besides providing unauthorised facilities to inmates in exchange for money.
The government has also approved disciplinary proceedings under Rule 16 of the Rajasthan Civil Services (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 1958, against Derawar Singh, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Cyber Crime), Jodhpur Police Commissionerate. The action relates to his earlier posting as Station House Officer at Kaman Police Station in Deeg district, where he was found allegedly negligent while handling a murder investigation.

According to the government, during the investigation of a murder case, Singh allegedly failed to take appropriate action against seven of the eight accused and attempted to hold responsibility on only one accused. The department initiated action after reviewing the handling of the case and examining the officer’s conduct during the investigation.
In another case, the Chief Minister approved the departmental enquiry report against Rajasthan Police Service officer Labhuram Bishnoi, with the charges against him being found proven. The inquiry found that he did not follow official instructions related to action against illegal sand mining and transportation activities by sand mafia in the Banas River area under Chauth ka Barwara Police Station in Sawai Madhopur district.
The government stated that Bishnoi’s alleged negligence contributed to a law-and-order situation, placed police personnel, including himself, at risk and showed a lack of coordination with other departments involved in the operation. The Rajasthan government said the decisions demonstrate its focus on transparency, accountability and ensuring efficient functioning of law enforcement agencies.
