Former Bihar chief minister Rabri Devi on Saturday strongly objected to the government's decision to allot the bungalow she has occupied for more than a decade to another minister, declaring that she would not vacate the premises voluntarily. The remarks came after the state's Building Construction Department allotted the residence at 10, Circular Road in Patna to Dairy and Fisheries Minister Nand Kishor Ram.
Speaking to reporters upon her return to Patna from a short visit to Delhi, Rabri Devi challenged the state government to remove her from the bungalow by force. The senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader expressed anger over the allotment order and questioned the move, which has sparked a fresh political controversy in the state.
Rabri Devi also took a swipe at Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, suggesting that he was acting with excessive enthusiasm after assuming office. She asserted that she had no intention of vacating the government residence despite the latest administrative decision.

The former chief minister had travelled to Delhi to celebrate her grandson's birthday. During the visit, RJD president Lalu Prasad Yadav is also reported to have departed for Singapore for medical treatment. Upon her arrival at the airport, Rabri Devi addressed questions from journalists regarding the bungalow allotment and voiced her displeasure over the development.
The 10, Circular Road bungalow holds political significance for the RJD leadership and has remained associated with the family for years. The residence is located near key government establishments, including the Raj Bhavan and the chief minister's official residence, making it one of the most prominent government properties in the state capital.
The bungalow was originally allotted to the family during an earlier government led by Nitish Kumar. The latest decision to reassign the property is expected to intensify political exchanges between the ruling establishment and the opposition RJD, with the issue likely to remain a subject of debate in Bihar's political circles.
