Election strategist-turned-politician Prashant Kishor is reportedly set to take on a new political assignment in Maharashtra, with sources indicating that he may be working with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) faction led by Sunetra Pawar to help restructure and strengthen the party’s organisational and electoral strategy.
According to reports, Kishor has been in discussions with senior NCP leaders, including Sunetra Pawar and MP Parth Pawar, during a meeting that reportedly lasted around two hours earlier this week. The discussions are said to have focused on a possible strategic collaboration aimed at revamping the party’s internal communication, campaign design, and organisational framework ahead of upcoming electoral contests.
The development has triggered internal speculation within the party, with some leaders expressing unease over a potential restructuring of existing roles and strategic responsibilities. The possible entry of Kishor’s team is being viewed by some insiders as a shift in the party’s power dynamics, particularly in relation to current organisational advisors and communication handlers.

Prashant Kishor, known for his extensive work in Indian electoral politics, has previously been associated with multiple high-profile campaigns, including those of national and regional leaders across party lines. His track record includes successful strategies in several state elections, though not all of his recent political engagements have yielded expected results.
Sources suggest that formal procedural and contractual arrangements for the proposed collaboration may be finalised soon, with Kishor’s team potentially beginning work from June 1, although no official confirmation has been issued by either side so far. The move comes at a sensitive time for the NCP, which has been navigating internal adjustments, leadership transitions, and organisational realignment ahead of key electoral challenges, including local body polls and state-level political contests.
While some party members view the possible induction of Kishor’s team as a strategic attempt to modernise campaign operations and strengthen electoral competitiveness, others believe it could lead to a reconfiguration of existing internal structures, particularly in media outreach and political messaging units. The NCP has not issued an official statement on the reported development, and Kishor’s representatives have also not publicly confirmed the details of the discussions.
