Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to shift to his new office near Raisina Hill later this month, with final touches currently underway at the premises built under the ambitious Central Vista Redevelopment Project. The new complex, previously referred to as Executive Enclave during construction, has been officially named Seva Teerth (meaning a holy place of service), reflecting a symbolic emphasis on public service and governance.
The Seva Teerth complex comprises three buildings: Seva Teerth 1 houses the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), Seva Teerth 2 accommodates the Cabinet Secretariat, and Seva Teerth 3 contains the National Security Council Secretariat along with the office of National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The new PMO features an open floor design intended to foster a more collaborative and modern work culture, along with high-end, technologically advanced meeting rooms that showcase elements of India's rich cultural heritage. A dedicated space has also been created for cabinet meetings.
This development marks a significant milestone in the Central Vista project, which aims to modernize key government infrastructure in the heart of Lutyens' Delhi. The new Parliament building and the vice president's enclave are already operational, while three out of eight new ministerial offices have been completed and are functional. Once the Prime Minister's official residence under the project is ready, PM Modi will move out of his current home at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg.

The shift also signals the end of an era for the historic South Block, where the PMO has been located since Independence alongside the Ministries of External Affairs and Defence. These ministries, along with the Home and Finance Ministries previously in the North Block, have been relocated to the newly constructed Kartavya Bhavan. The colonial-era North and South Blocks are now being repurposed into a grand museum dedicated to showcasing 5,000 years of Indian civilization, with the first phase expected to be inaugurated early next year.
The Central Vista Redevelopment Project, one of the largest infrastructure initiatives in independent India, seeks to create a contemporary, efficient, and symbolically significant administrative hub for the country. The Prime Minister's transition to Seva Teerth this month will be a key moment in the project's implementation, aligning with the government's vision of blending tradition, culture, and modern governance in the national capital.
