Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday extended birthday greetings to Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan, praising his contributions to parliamentary functioning and his commitment to the vision of a developed India. The message was shared on social media platform X, where the Prime Minister highlighted the Vice President’s role in strengthening democratic institutions and improving the productivity of Parliament.

In his post, PM Modi said Radhakrishnan has been making “numerous efforts” toward building a Viksit Bharat, underlining his focus on inclusive development and welfare for marginalised communities. He also noted that the Vice President’s public life reflects discipline, dedication, and a strong sense of purpose. Modi further prayed for his good health, happiness, and a long life in service of the nation, describing his contributions as aligned with democratic values and national progress.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also conveyed his wishes, appreciating Radhakrishnan’s efforts in enhancing parliamentary productivity and ensuring that the benefits of development reach all sections of society. He extended his greetings and prayed for his long and healthy life, emphasising his role in strengthening governance and institutional efficiency.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also joined in extending birthday wishes, praying for the Vice President’s long life and continued service to the nation. In his message, he expressed hopes for Radhakrishnan’s good health and sustained energy in public service, invoking blessings for his future contributions.

C.P. Radhakrishnan was elected as the 15th Vice President of India in September 2025 after defeating INDIA bloc candidate Justice B. Sudershan Reddy by a margin of 152 votes. Before assuming the constitutional post, he served as the Governor of Maharashtra and earlier held gubernatorial responsibilities in Jharkhand, Telangana, and Puducherry, reflecting a long administrative career across multiple states and Union territories.

His varied experience in public office has often been highlighted by leaders across the political spectrum, with particular emphasis on his administrative continuity and governance roles. Monday’s birthday wishes from top national leaders further underscored his position within India’s constitutional framework and his ongoing role in parliamentary leadership and national decision-making processes.
