Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday cleared a sweeping set of welfare and development initiatives from the newly inaugurated Seva Teerth complex, signalling a renewed push on healthcare access, women’s empowerment, farm infrastructure, and startup funding. The measures were described by officials as part of a broader effort to strengthen inclusive growth and public service delivery.
Among the key announcements is the launch of the PM RAHAT scheme, which aims to provide immediate financial support for accident victims. Under the initiative, eligible patients will receive cashless medical treatment of up to ₹1.5 lakh during the critical “golden hour”, with the government seeking to ensure that lack of funds does not delay emergency care.
The government also expanded its flagship women’s empowerment drive by setting a new target of six crore beneficiaries under the ‘Lakhpati Didi’ mission by March 2029. Officials said the earlier milestone of three crore women earning at least ₹1 lakh annually through self-help group-linked livelihoods has already been achieved ahead of schedule, prompting the enhanced goal.

In a major boost to the agriculture sector, the outlay for the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund has been doubled from ₹1 lakh crore to ₹2 lakh crore. The fund supports the creation of post-harvest facilities such as warehouses, cold-storage units, and processing infrastructure, with the government aiming to reduce wastage and improve farmers’ income realisation.
To strengthen India’s innovation ecosystem, the Prime Minister also approved the Startup India Fund of Funds 2.0 with a corpus of ₹10,000 crore. The fund is expected to back early-stage ventures in areas including deep technology and advanced manufacturing, expanding capital access for emerging startups.
Government sources said the first major decisions from Seva Teerth underscore the administration’s continued focus on grassroots welfare, rural income generation, and long-term economic capacity building as central pillars of policy direction.
