London-based tech innovator Nothing has announced that its sub-brand, CMF, is breaking free to become an independent subsidiary with its global headquarters now rooted in India. This strategic shift positions India as the epicenter for CMF’s operations, research and development, and manufacturing, signaling a new era for the brand in the global consumer tech landscape.
Adding firepower to this vision, Nothing has partnered with Optiemus Infracom, a leading Indian electronics manufacturer, to establish a manufacturing joint venture. The collaboration will see an investment of over USD 100 million (approximately Rs 887 crore) to transform India into a global production and export hub for both Nothing and CMF products. This ambitious venture is set to create over 1,800 jobs in India over the next three years, boosting local employment and reinforcing India’s growing influence in the global tech ecosystem.
Nothing’s total investment in India now exceeds USD 200 million, a testament to the company’s commitment to the region. The announcement comes on the heels of CMF relocating its global marketing operations to India, further solidifying the country’s role as a strategic hub.
