In a sweeping move to curb anti-national activities, Jammu and Kashmir Police detained 23 terror associates and miscreants in Srinagar under the Public Safety Act (PSA) on Saturday.
The group, linked to banned terror outfits and public disturbances, was booked after Srinagar Police secured formal detention orders from the District Magistrate, based on detailed dossiers.
The detained individuals, now lodged in district jails in Poonch, Udhampur, and Kot Balwal, Jammu, face multiple criminal cases for subversive acts and public order violations.

Despite previous bail grants, they continued their brazen activities, prompting this decisive action. The crackdown targets those undermining security and public safety in Srinagar, aligning with ongoing efforts to dismantle terror networks in the region, especially amid heightened tensions following the April 22 Pahalgam attack.
J&K Police reiterated their commitment to rooting out anti-national elements, warning that “the long arm of law” will swiftly bring offenders to justice.
