The Maharashtra government has issued emergency helpline numbers for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Panvel as heavy rainfall is forecast to continue across several parts of the state until July 6. The India Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, the Konkan coast and parts of central Maharashtra during the three-day period, prompting authorities to place disaster response teams on alert.
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said Mumbai, Raigad, Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg are likely to receive heavy rainfall between July 4 and July 6. Moderate to heavy rain is also expected in the ghat areas of Satara, Pune and Nashik. The government has warned residents to remain vigilant as intense showers could disrupt local travel and create dangerous conditions in vulnerable areas.
Authorities have cautioned that continued rainfall may lead to waterlogging, traffic disruptions and possible structural damage in some locations. Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during periods of intense rain and exercise particular caution in low-lying areas, flooded stretches and on ghat roads. People have also been urged to stay away from open drains, waterlogged roads and structures that may have been weakened by persistent rainfall.

Authorities have asked residents to remain cautious, limit avoidable travel and rely on official updates as weather conditions continue to develop.
