Gujarat Police has arrested Parminder Prasad, alias Parminder Kaka, in connection with the killing of Punjab-based social media influencer and makeup artist Mad Sandhu, police said. The accused allegedly fled Punjab after the shooting and was traced to Ahmedabad following a tip-off. Sandhu, whose real name was Madhusudan Sandhu, was shot dead in Amritsar on October 3, 2026. The arrest in Ahmedabad marks a development in the investigation into the attack, with police in Punjab and Gujarat working to trace those allegedly involved in the killing and establish the circumstances behind the shooting.
According to the case details, Sandhu was attacked at around 6 pm on October 3 on Loharka Road in Amritsar. He had reportedly gone to collect his car after it was washed when two unidentified men arrived on a motorcycle and approached him. The attackers allegedly opened fire, firing two to three rounds at Sandhu before fleeing the scene. Sandhu sustained critical injuries in the attack and died while being taken to hospital. The shooting prompted an investigation by Punjab Police, which began examining the circumstances of the attack and identifying the people allegedly responsible for it.
A complaint was subsequently registered at Cantonment Police Station in Amritsar, following which police launched an investigation into the murder. Investigators began working to identify the two men who allegedly carried out the shooting and determine their movements after the attack. Both accused reportedly went underground following the killing. Police also began examining possible links between the shooters and individuals who may have planned or facilitated the attack. The investigation involved tracing the suspects' movements after they allegedly left Punjab, eventually leading authorities to Ahmedabad.

The case gained another dimension after a Facebook page operating under the name ‘Goldy Dhillon’ claimed responsibility for the murder. The online claim became part of the investigation as Punjab Police sought to determine who was operating the account and whether those behind it had any connection with the shooting. Investigators were also examining whether the social media post was genuinely linked to the attackers or was intended to mislead the probe. Such claims can form an important part of an investigation, but their authenticity and connection to the actual perpetrators have to be established through evidence gathered by police.
Gujarat Police subsequently traced Parminder Prasad alias Parminder Kaka to Ahmedabad after receiving information about his presence in the city. Police arrested him in connection with the murder and are expected to question him about the shooting, his alleged role in the attack and the circumstances surrounding his movement from Punjab to Gujarat. Investigators will also seek to establish whether he was one of the two men who allegedly arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire on Sandhu. His questioning could provide information about the identity and whereabouts of other people allegedly involved in the case, although the investigation remains ongoing.
The murder has therefore triggered a multi-state investigation involving authorities in Punjab and Gujarat. Police are working to establish the sequence of events before and after Sandhu's killing, identify all those allegedly involved and determine the circumstances that led one of the suspects to flee to Ahmedabad. The arrest of Parminder Prasad is a significant development in the case, but investigators still need to establish the full chain of responsibility for the attack. Sandhu's death followed a targeted shooting in Amritsar, while the subsequent Facebook claim and the accused's reported flight to Gujarat have added further elements to the investigation. Further action is expected as police continue questioning the arrested accused and pursuing the remaining suspects.
