Kolkata Police arrested four members of a cyber fraud syndicate operating across Kolkata and Jamtara, Jharkhand, on July 27, 2025, following a complaint lodged at Garden Reach police station. The gang allegedly swindled Rs 1.18 lakh from a victim using a fake bank website and customer care number, police said.
The Port Division’s special investigation team (SIT) cracked the case, seizing 39 mobile phones, Rs 2.5 lakh in cash, and multiple electronic gadgets from the accused. The SIT’s swift action targeted the fraudsters who preyed on unsuspecting victims through sophisticated digital scams.
Authorities are continuing their investigation to uncover further details and potential accomplices in the cross-state cybercrime network.
