A gunfight erupted outside the building housing the Israeli consulate in Istanbul on Tuesday, resulting in the deaths of at least two attackers and injuries to multiple law enforcement officers, Turkish media and authorities reported. The incident unfolded in the Levent area of the city in broad daylight, prompting an immediate and heavy police response.

According to Haberturk broadcaster reports, the assailants were armed with long‑barreled weapons when they opened fire near the diplomatic premises. Police engaged them in a shootout, during which two of the attackers were killed. A third suspect was taken into custody, and one police officer was reported wounded in the clash.

Turkish authorities quickly sealed off the surrounding area and deployed additional security forces to secure the scene. Footage shared by witnesses and news agencies showed armed officers taking cover and responding to the exchange of gunfire as the incident unfolded. The building where the consulate is located was cordoned off to prevent further escalation.
