The launch of Apple’s iPhone 18 Pro series has brought attention to discounted offers on the previous-generation iPhone 17 Pro. While the newer models are more expensive in India, buyers looking for a premium iPhone at a lower effective price can now consider offers from Croma that bring the iPhone 17 Pro down to as little as Rs 69,990, subject to exchange and other conditions.

The 256GB variant of the iPhone 17 Pro is listed at Rs 1,30,490, representing a discount of Rs 4,410 from its original launch price of Rs 1,34,900. Customers can receive an additional Rs 4,000 benefit through eligible bank offers, reducing the effective price to Rs 1,26,490 before exchange-related savings are applied.

The largest reduction comes through the exchange programme. Buyers can receive exchange benefits of up to Rs 44,500 when trading in an older smartphone, such as an iPhone 15 Pro, although the final value depends on the device’s model, condition and eligibility. The offer also includes an exchange bonus of Rs 12,000, taking the effective price of the iPhone 17 Pro to Rs 69,990 in qualifying cases.

The iPhone 17 Pro remains a capable flagship despite being a year old. It features an aluminium unibody design similar to that of the iPhone 18 Pro and is powered by Apple’s A19 Pro chip, supported by a vapour cooling chamber. Its camera system includes three 48-megapixel sensors covering the main, ultrawide and 4x telephoto cameras, while the front camera is an 18-megapixel unit.

The iPhone 17 Pro may therefore be a practical option for buyers who want high-end performance but do not want to spend on the latest generation. However, customers should carefully check the exchange valuation, bank-offer terms and stock availability before making a purchase, as the lowest advertised price depends on meeting multiple conditions.

Apple has also introduced offers on the newer iPhone 18 Pro models, including a Rs 12,000 exchange bonus during the pre-booking period. Pre-bookings begin on September 12, while sales start on September 18. However, with the iPhone 18 Pro starting at Rs 1,64,900 in India, around Rs 30,000 more than the previous-generation Pro series, the discounted iPhone 17 Pro could remain the more affordable choice for buyers with a limited budget.
