Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS) in Chennai has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Google Cloud and CloudReign Technologies to establish a Google Cloud Digital Campus, marked by the inauguration of the state-of-the-art Genesis Cloud Laboratory on September 10. The initiative aims to drive innovation, digital transformation, and advanced research in cloud computing, artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, and related fields.
The Genesis Cloud Laboratory will serve as an innovation hub, equipping students and faculty with cutting-edge resources to explore next-generation technologies. The collaboration offers access to Google certification programs, industry-linked projects, internships, and research opportunities, ensuring students are prepared for the demands of the global digital economy.
HITS Chancellor Anand Jacob Verghese emphasized the transformative potential of the partnership, stating, “This collaboration is about transforming education to make students globally competent and industry-ready. The Genesis Cloud Laboratory is a platform where innovation begins, and ideas turn into solutions.” Siddharth Dalwadi, Google Cloud’s regional head, highlighted the joint effort to create AI-powered digital tools and a robust learning ecosystem, adding, “We are proud to shape the future of education by empowering institutions and educators worldwide.”
