Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini lambasted the Congress party on Monday, accusing it of deceiving people with unfulfilled promises during its 55 years of central rule. Speaking at a Panchkula event where ownership certificates and allotment letters were distributed under the Mukhyamantri Shehri Awas Yojana, Saini contrasted Congress’s failures with the tangible benefits delivered by the BJP’s “double-engine” government.
Saini, who took a selfie with beneficiaries, criticized Congress for neglecting the poor, claiming their policies left families struggling. He highlighted that while Congress promised land plots to the poor in Haryana, it failed to provide legal documents or possession. In contrast, the BJP government has delivered 100-square-yard plots with proper documentation to beneficiaries.
The chief minister credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership for transformative schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which provided LPG gas cylinders to lakhs of households, sparing women the hardship of cooking with wood. In Haryana, 18 lakh families now access subsidized gas cylinders at Rs 500, Saini noted. He also praised the Jal Jeevan Mission for ensuring tap water in every household and the Ayushman Bharat and Chirayu Haryana schemes for offering free healthcare up to Rs 5 lakh.

Addressing Congress’s allegations of a steep hike in property registration collector rates, Saini dismissed them as “irresponsible lies,” clarifying that rates increased by only 10% in over 80% of areas. He accused the opposition of spreading false propaganda, asserting that the public is now too aware to fall for such tactics.
Saini reaffirmed the BJP’s commitment to the welfare of the poor, women, and farmers, vowing to continue these efforts. The event was attended by ministers Krishan Lal Panwar, Mahipal Dhanda, and Krishan Kumar Bedi, among others.
