Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has reportedly shifted his base from Mumbai to Bengaluru, choosing to make the BCCI’s Centre of Excellence (CoE) his long-term training hub as he continues his recovery from a quadriceps injury, according to media reports. The move marks a rare arrangement for a centrally contracted Indian cricketer, who typically visit the CoE only for rehabilitation or training camps.
Pandya, who was ruled out of the ongoing white-ball tour of the United Kingdom due to injury, is said to be focusing on structured fitness and recovery work at the Bengaluru facility. Reports suggest he has rented a property on the outskirts of the city, close to the CoE, allowing him easier access to training and rehabilitation infrastructure.
Sources quoted in reports indicate that Pandya has decided to reduce his dependence on Mumbai, where he had been based for several years while playing for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League. The decision is also understood to be driven by the need to streamline his daily training and rehabilitation schedule, which had become logistically demanding.

The CoE in Bengaluru is expected to serve as his primary training base whenever he is not on national, IPL, or domestic duty. The facility provides access to rehabilitation experts, strength and conditioning staff, and specialised skill-training resources, which are considered crucial for his return to full fitness and long-term workload management.
According to reports, Pandya is also expected to work with his own physiotherapist and strength-and-conditioning coach in coordination with the CoE staff. He has been undergoing rehabilitation over the past several months and recently took a short break for personal reasons before resuming his recovery program in Bengaluru.
While his return to competitive cricket remains dependent on fitness clearance, it is still uncertain whether he will be available for India’s upcoming T20I assignments. His selection will depend on successful completion of return-to-play protocols, with the national selectors expected to assess his condition before final squad decisions are made.
