Trinamool Congress leader and Jadavpur MP Saayoni Ghosh has emerged as one of the party’s most visible campaign faces in the West Bengal Assembly elections, combining poetry, music and sharp political attacks to draw crowds across the state. As campaigning intensifies ahead of the second phase of polling, Ghosh’s speeches have gained traction both at rallies and across social media platforms.
With 142 of Bengal’s 294 constituencies set to vote in the second phase, the ruling TMC has increased its outreach in the final stretch of the campaign. Among younger party leaders, Ghosh has been campaigning extensively, addressing multiple constituencies and targeting opposition parties through a highly performative speaking style that blends humour, cultural references and emotional messaging.
At a recent rally, Ghosh quoted from a devotional poem and recited portions of the Hanuman Chalisa as well as a Sikh prayer. The gesture was presented as a message of secularism and communal harmony, themes central to the TMC’s campaign narrative in a politically polarised environment. Her speeches often seek to reinforce the party’s image as rooted in Bengal’s plural social fabric.

Ghosh has also become a prominent countervoice to the BJP’s campaign machinery. Her remarks have drawn responses from senior BJP leaders, including Amit Shah and Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, highlighting the political attention she now commands. TMC leaders view her growing popularity as evidence that younger and culturally resonant voices can energise grassroots mobilisation.
An actor before entering politics, Ghosh has used stage presence and communication skills to become a compelling campaigner. Her rise reflects how modern electioneering increasingly rewards personality-driven outreach that connects both offline and online. As Bengal heads deeper into polling season, Saayoni Ghosh’s campaign style is likely to remain one of the TMC’s key electoral assets.
