Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis extended heartfelt greetings to the residents of Gadchiroli on the district’s 43rd foundation day, reaffirming his government’s commitment to elevating the Naxal-affected region into a leading center of development. Speaking as the guardian minister of Gadchiroli, Fadnavis outlined ambitious plans to overhaul the district’s infrastructure, economy, and security, marking a significant shift from its decades-long struggle with underdevelopment.
Fadnavis highlighted that since 2014, Gadchiroli has made substantial strides toward mainstream integration. “Our top priority has been to free Gadchiroli from Maoism and set up industries, provide education, employment, and infrastructure,” he said. Noting that nearly half the district is now Maoism-free, he aligned his efforts with Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s goal of eradicating Maoism nationwide by March 2026. The CM praised the state police’s C-60 commandos and initiatives like ‘Police Dadalora Khidki,’ which have transformed law enforcement into a catalyst for development.
A key pillar of Fadnavis’ vision is positioning Gadchiroli as India’s “steel city,” with investments of approximately Rs 1 lakh crore pouring into the region. “We are moving rapidly toward transforming Gadchiroli, while ensuring the protection of its water, land, forests, and environment,” he emphasized. This balanced approach aims to foster sustainable growth without compromising the district’s natural heritage.

Fadnavis credited the active cooperation of Gadchiroli’s residents for accelerating the development process. “Because of the strong support of Gadchiroli’s citizens, the development process has gained momentum,” he said, expressing optimism about the district’s future. As Gadchiroli marks another year, Fadnavis’ ambitious agenda signals a new chapter of prosperity and progress for the region.
