Fresh signs of internal turmoil have emerged within the Trinamool Congress (TMC), with expelled leader Humayun Kabir claiming that the party could face another split, this time in Parliament. Kabir, who now heads the Aam Janata Unnayan Party (AJUP), alleged that a section of Trinamool MPs is considering a move against the party's leadership structure in the Lok Sabha.
Speaking to the media, Kabir claimed that several Trinamool lawmakers are unhappy with the leadership of Abhishek Banerjee, the party's Lok Sabha leader and nephew of TMC chief Mamata Banerjee. According to him, the dissatisfaction could result in a major division within the parliamentary wing of the party, adding to the challenges already confronting the Trinamool leadership.
Kabir further alleged that 20 of the party's 29 Lok Sabha MPs have approached the Speaker regarding the removal of Abhishek Banerjee from his leadership position. He claimed that these lawmakers are prepared to distance themselves from the existing parliamentary leadership, though no official confirmation of such a move has been made by the Trinamool Congress or the MPs concerned.

The remarks come at a time when the party is already dealing with reports of internal disagreements over organizational and legislative appointments. Political observers have closely watched developments within the Trinamool in recent months, particularly as the party seeks to maintain unity ahead of future electoral contests in West Bengal and at the national level.
While Kabir's claims have generated political interest, the Trinamool Congress has not publicly responded to the allegations. Whether the reported discontent translates into any formal action remains to be seen. For now, the statements have added a new dimension to the ongoing discussion surrounding the party's internal dynamics and leadership structure.
