Delhi Police have dismantled a major drug syndicate in North-West Delhi, seizing properties worth Rs 4 crore allegedly owned by Kusum, dubbed the "drug queen" of Sultanpuri. Kusum, a long-time resident, has been missing since a March 2025 raid on her home, which led to the arrest of her son, Amit, and the recovery of 550 heroin packets, tramadol tablets, Rs 14 lakh in cash, and a Mahindra Scorpio SUV.
Police investigations revealed Kusum’s central role in an illicit drug network in Sultanpuri, with 12 prior cases under the NDPS Act. Authorities seized eight properties—seven in Sultanpuri and one in Rohini’s Sector 24. A probe into her daughters’ bank accounts uncovered Rs 2 crore in deposits over 18 months, including Rs 70 lakh in 2025 alone, mostly in small transactions of Rs 2,000 to Rs 5,000, with no credible explanation for the funds’ origins.
A striking discovery was a four-storey "mini-mansion" in Sultanpuri, created by merging four housing units by removing internal walls. While unassuming externally, the structure’s lavish interior exposed the scale of Kusum’s operations. Delhi Police have notified the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to review the building’s legal status, with an investigation pending.
