The University of Delhi has received 65,343 registrations for undergraduate admissions for the 2026-27 academic session under the first phase of the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS). The registrations were recorded until Monday, with thousands of students applying for admission after appearing in the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2026. The registration process marks the beginning of admissions to one of India's largest and most sought-after central universities.
Admissions this year will be conducted entirely on the basis of CUET UG 2026 scores, subject to course-specific eligibility requirements. Delhi University is offering admissions to 73 undergraduate programmes and more than 100 combinations under the Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme across its 67 affiliated colleges. Candidates seeking admission are required to complete the registration process through the official CSAS portal using their CUET UG 2026 application number.
To make the admission process smoother and minimise errors, Delhi University has introduced API Setu integration for the first time. Through this system, important details such as a candidate's name, date of birth, photograph and signature are automatically fetched during registration. The university expects the new digital feature to simplify the application process, reduce manual data entry and improve the accuracy of submitted information.

Delhi University remains one of the most preferred higher education institutions in the country, with several colleges attracting high cut-offs and intense competition every year. Colleges such as Hindu College, Miranda House, Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), Lady Shri Ram College, Hansraj College and St. Stephen's College were among the most sought-after institutions during last year's admission cycle due to their academic reputation and placement opportunities.
Following the completion of the first phase of CSAS registration, candidates will be required to fill their course and college preferences before the university announces seat allocation lists. Admissions will be carried out in multiple rounds based on CUET UG scores, reservation policies, eligibility criteria and seat availability across various colleges and programmes.
University officials have advised candidates to carefully verify all information submitted during registration and regularly check the official admission portal for updates regarding preference filling, seat allocation schedules and counselling. Aspirants are encouraged to complete every stage of the admission process within the notified deadlines to avoid missing the opportunity to secure a seat in their preferred course and college.
