He warned that the exercise risks mass disenfranchisement, calling on voters—including DMK cadres, opposition supporters, and unaffiliated residents—to unite in vigilance and ensure no name is unlawfully deleted from the rolls ahead of future elections.

Stalin highlighted the deliberate opacity of the SIR process, noting that despite sustained protests from the DMK and its allies, the ECI forged ahead with enumeration forms so convoluted that even highly educated and civic-minded individuals find them disorienting. He explained that a minor error in filling details—such as mismatched addresses, spelling variations, or incomplete family linkages—could lead to outright rejection, with the final verdict resting solely with Electoral Registration Officers whose decisions may vary unpredictably across booths and districts.

Addressing a common defense from critics, Stalin categorically refuted the notion that SIR is harmless because it employs state government staff, clarifying that the moment officials are deputed to ECI duties, they function exclusively under the commission's command and oversight, severing all ties to state government accountability. This structural independence, he argued, eliminates any safeguard against bias or overreach, amplifying the potential for targeted or arbitrary deletions in a state where electoral margins often hinge on thousands of votes.
