The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) has officially released the timetable for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) Class 10 and Indian School Certificate (ISC) Class 12 examinations for 2026. Students can now download the complete date sheet from the council’s official website, cisce.org. This announcement allows students ample time to prepare and plan strategically for one of the most crucial academic milestones in the country’s school education system.
According to the CISCE schedule, the ICSE Class 10 board exams will commence on February 17, 2026, with English Language Paper 1, and conclude on March 30 with Environmental Sciences. Similarly, the ISC Class 12 board exams will begin on February 12 with Psychology and wrap up on April 6 with Geography. The council added that the schedule has been structured to provide sufficient breaks between major subjects to help students manage their preparation effectively.
Every year, the CISCE conducts three primary examinations — the ICSE for Class 10, the ISC for Class 12, and the Certificate of Vocational Education (CVE) for Year 12 students. For the 2026 exams, approximately 2.6 lakh students are expected to appear for ICSE and 1.5 lakh for ISC. Schools affiliated with CISCE have been advised to ensure students receive the final timetable, along with detailed guidelines on examination conduct, well in advance.

Students can also access sample papers and previous years’ question papers on the council’s official archive at cisce.org/archive-library/#icse. Sample papers for all major subjects, available since 2017, are aimed at helping students familiarize themselves with exam formats and question patterns. The council has encouraged candidates to utilize these resources to strengthen their performance and time management skills.
The CISCE examinations are widely recognized for their academic rigor and emphasis on application-based learning. Experts note that early release of the schedule benefits both students and educators by enabling schools to conduct revision sessions and mock exams efficiently. With the 2026 board season approaching, schools across India are preparing to guide students through the final phase of revision and ensure a smooth examination cycle.
