BJP national president Nitin Nabin will engage with youth in Haldwani on Thursday as part of the party’s outreach programme ahead of the 2027 Uttarakhand Assembly elections. Nabin is scheduled to address the ‘Yuva Samvad’ programme with Gen-Z participants at 10 a.m. He will later address an ‘Ex-Servicemen Sammelan’ at Vatika Banquet Hall on Nainital Road at 11 a.m., before travelling to Rudrapur for a Sikh Pride Conference at 3 p.m.

Nabin’s visit comes as the BJP steps up its organisational and public outreach activities in the state with the stated objective of securing a third consecutive term in Uttarakhand. The party is seeking to engage different sections of society through programmes focused on youth, former servicemen and the Sikh community. A total of 597 delegates from across Uttarakhand, including Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, state BJP president Mahendra Bhatt and former Chief Ministers, are also participating in the party’s state executive committee meeting.

Addressing the Extended State Executive Committee Meeting in Haldwani on Wednesday, Nabin outlined issues that the BJP considers central to its governance and political agenda. These included improved road connectivity, welfare and respect for soldiers, implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, women’s empowerment and welfare measures for poorer sections. He also emphasised the BJP’s stated organisational principle of ‘Nation First’, ‘Party Next’ and ‘Self Last’.

Nabin also launched a political attack on the Congress, accusing the Opposition party of pursuing what he described as appeasement and divisive politics. He criticised Congress leaders over their position on ‘Vande Mataram’ and targeted senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, alleging that the party had failed to understand the historical and cultural significance of the national song. Nabin linked the song to the freedom movement and the BJP’s broader vision of a developed India by 2047.

The BJP president also contrasted the party’s approach with that of previous Congress governments, claiming that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s government had placed the poor at the centre of its welfare and development policies. He further alleged that forces seeking to alter the demographic character of India and Uttarakhand could not genuinely claim to represent the interests of the nation. Nabin’s engagements in Haldwani and Rudrapur are part of the BJP’s wider effort to consolidate support among key social groups before the 2027 Assembly elections.
