The Mira Bhayander Municipal Corporation (MBMC) has issued a notice to Bhojpuri superstar and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) candidate Khesari Lal Yadav over alleged illegal construction at his residence in Mira Road, Thane district. According to civic officials, the violation involves the unauthorized installation of iron angles and a tin sheet shed, which were added to the property without necessary approvals.
An MBMC official clarified that the notice directs the property owner to remove the illegal additions immediately. The notice warns that if the structures are not dismantled voluntarily, the civic body’s encroachment department will carry out demolition at the owner’s expense under the provisions of municipal law. These steps are part of an ongoing drive by the civic administration to curb unauthorized constructions in the rapidly developing Mira Bhayander region.
Local residents claimed that the house has remained locked for several weeks. Neighbors alleged that Yadav’s family has traveled to Bihar to participate in his ongoing election campaign. The actor-singer, known for his massive popularity in Bhojpuri cinema and music, is contesting the Bihar Assembly elections from the Chapra constituency on an RJD ticket. The seat has been held by BJP’s C. N. Gupta since 2015, making this contest one of the most closely watched in the region.

Attempts to reach Khesari Lal Yadav for a response were unsuccessful. Officials said the civic body would proceed with the mandated process if the property owner fails to comply with the notice within the stipulated period. Civic enforcement teams have reportedly documented the encroachment and attached photographic evidence as part of their inspection report.
The development adds a political dimension to Yadav’s ongoing campaign in Bihar, drawing attention both to his public image as a film icon and to allegations of regulatory non-compliance in Maharashtra. The MBMC’s move aligns with the state’s intensified scrutiny of unlawful constructions in suburban zones that have witnessed a surge in real estate violations in recent years.
