Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav strongly endorsed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of vote theft during a media interaction in Bengaluru on Sunday, describing the issue not as simple theft but as outright dacoity. Addressing reporters at the Vision India: Startup Summit, he emphasized that such manipulations were carried out openly, referencing Gandhi’s cited instance of deliberate attempts to delete genuine votes of minorities and backward communities in the Aland area of Kalaburagi constituency.
Yadav clarified that the word “chori” implies petty crime, whereas the scale and audacity of the alleged electoral irregularities constitute a full-fledged robbery in broad daylight. These statements align with a growing opposition critique questioning the fairness of recent polls and highlighting potential systemic biases against specific demographic groups.
Regarding the Bihar Assembly election results, Yadav noted he had reviewed outcomes without booth-level scrutiny, commending Tejashwi Yadav’s widespread appeal and the Mahagathbandhan’s constructive agenda. He contrasted this with what he termed divisive strategies employed by opponents, extending the accusation to Uttar Pradesh’s “double-engine” BJP administration for relying on communal polarization.

On the public family dispute involving Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Rohini Acharya, Yadav asserted that internal household matters occur universally and should remain private. He pointed out the selective media attention opposition families receive, unlike similar issues within the BJP that often escape discussion.
Speaking at the summit themed around development and ascent, Yadav cautioned against an emerging ideological emergency that endangers India’s core diversity. He called for safeguarding “Unity in Diversity” and true “Hindustaniat” by fostering inclusive, forward-looking policies to overcome deliberately created divisions through sustained positivity.
