Seventeen Members of Parliament (MPs) have been selected for the 15th Sansad Ratna Awards 2025 for their exceptional performance in the Lok Sabha, with Maharashtra leading with seven nominees. Instituted in 2010 by the Prime Point Foundation and eMagazine PreSense, inspired by former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, the awards honor outstanding parliamentary contributions based on debates, questions, private members’ bills, and attendance, using data from the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariats and PRS Legislative Research.
The nominees include Supriya Sule (NCP-SP), Ravi Kishan (BJP), Nishikant Dubey (BJP), Arvind Sawant (Shiv Sena-UBT), Naresh Mhaske (Shiv Sena), Varsha Gaikwad (Congress), Medha Kulkarni (BJP), Praveen Patel (BJP), Bidyut Baran Mahato (BJP), P.P. Chaudhary (BJP), Madan Rathore (BJP), C.N. Annadurai (DMK), and Dilip Saikia (BJP). Four MPs—Bhartruhari Mahtab (BJP, Odisha), N.K. Premachandran (RSP, Kerala), Supriya Sule, and Shrirang Barne (Shiv Sena, Maharashtra)—were chosen for Special Jury Awards for their consistent excellence across the 16th, 17th, and 18th Lok Sabha terms.
The Standing Committees on Finance, chaired by Bhartruhari Mahtab, and Agriculture, led by Dr. Charanjit Singh Channi (Congress), were also selected for recognition due to their impactful reports and legislative oversight. The announcement, made in New Delhi, underscores the importance of robust parliamentary engagement. Priyadharshni Rahul, Chairperson of the Sansad Ratna Awards Committee, stated, “These selections celebrate the dedication of MPs and committees strengthening India’s parliamentary democracy.”
