As Onam approaches, restaurants across Mumbai are bringing the flavours and traditions of Kerala to the city with elaborate Sadhya feasts. From banana-leaf meals featuring more than 25 dishes to unlimited spreads and takeaway boxes, several restaurants are offering special menus around Thiruvonam on August 26. The celebrations include traditional vegetarian preparations, festive desserts and, at some venues, selected non-vegetarian Kerala dishes.
JW Marriott Mumbai Juhu is offering The Grand Sadhya at its Saffron restaurant on August 26, with lunch from 12.30pm to 3.30pm and dinner from 7pm to 11.30pm. The vegetarian feast includes banana, Ingi Puli, banana chips, mango pickle, Thoranam Erissery, Kalan Curry, Avial, Kottu Curry, Mango Pulisary, Sambar, Paruppu Curry, Poriyal and Rasam, followed by rice varieties, Thayir Sadam, Appalam and Ada Pradhaman. The experience is priced from ₹4,500.
Kerala Cafe is serving a 27-item vegetarian Sadhya on banana leaves across its Mumbai outlets from August 22 to 30. The menu includes avial, sambar, rasam, thoran, erissery and parippu curry, along with traditional payasams and prathamans. Dine-in is priced at ₹999 plus taxes, while a takeaway Sadhya parcel for two costs ₹1,299 plus taxes. Ammakai in Bandra is offering a traditional banana-leaf Sadhya inspired by generations-old recipes, with upperi, sharkara varatti, inji puli, avial, olan, erissery and two varieties of payasam, priced from ₹1,450.
Hoppumm in Bandra is offering a broader Sadhya combining vegetarian and non-vegetarian preparations, including jackfruit chips, pulinji, mixed thoran, avial, kootu curry, olan, pineapple pachadi, prawn roast, chicken varuval and meen fry. The feast is completed with Palada Payasam and Parippu Pradhaman and is priced at ₹3,500 plus taxes for two. The Tanjore Tiffin Room will serve a 30-dish banana-leaf Sadhya from August 26 to 28, featuring Kerala classics such as rasam, sambar, avial, olan, kaalan, beetroot thayir pachadi, puli inji, beans thoran and raw mango pickle, along with two payasams.
Other options include Theeram Restaurant in Santacruz, where Sadhya is available for dine-in and takeaway from August 21 to 30, with prices starting at ₹750 for dine-in and ₹800 for takeaway or delivery. Hotel Deluxe in Fort is also serving its traditional Onam Sadhya from August 21 to 30, with the meal priced at around ₹700 based on previous listings. Banana Leaf is offering a roughly 25-dish Sadhya featuring avial, olan, kootu curry, sambar, rasam, banana chips and traditional payasams on August 26 and 27, starting at ₹899.
Santosham is bringing back its Great Onam Sadhya 2026 with an unlimited feast featuring more than 40 dishes, priced at ₹1,449 plus taxes per person. Shri Gomateshwar Bhavan is offering more than 30 vegetarian and Jain-friendly dishes from August 26 to 29 for ₹899 plus GST. Dakshin Culture Curry in Matunga will offer an unlimited Sadhya Thali for ₹1,195 and a takeaway Sadhya Meal Box for ₹945 on August 25 and 26. South of Vindhyas at The Orchid Hotel is also marking Onam from August 22 to 26 with Kerala desserts including Ada Pradhamam, Kadala Pradhamam, Parippu Payasam, Pal Payasam and Mambazha Pradhamam, priced at ₹2,649++ per person.
