A techie couple died by suicide in Bengaluru’s Kothanur area in a tragic sequence of events, with the woman allegedly jumping from the 17th floor of their apartment minutes after discovering her husband dead inside their home. The incident, which occurred on Monday, has shocked residents and prompted a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
According to preliminary findings, the husband, identified as a 32-year-old software engineer from Telangana, was found hanging inside a locked room of their apartment. Police said the woman, reportedly unable to cope with the shock of the discovery, took the extreme step shortly afterward by leaping from the building.
The couple, both employed in the technology sector, had been living in Bengaluru for some time and were originally from Telangana. Investigators believe the deaths occurred within a short span, making it a deeply distressing incident for both authorities and the local community.

Initial inquiries suggest that marital discord and personal issues may have contributed to the situation, although officials have not confirmed a definitive cause. Police are also examining other factors, including possible health concerns and the couple’s recent personal history, as part of their ongoing probe.
Authorities have registered a case of unnatural death and are collecting evidence, including statements from neighbours and acquaintances. Forensic analysis and further investigation are expected to provide greater clarity on the sequence of events and underlying reasons behind the tragedy.
The incident has once again drawn attention to mental health challenges and emotional distress faced by individuals, particularly in high-pressure urban environments. Experts continue to stress the importance of timely support systems and open conversations around mental well-being to help prevent such tragedies.
