In a jaw-dropping twist, Ajay Devgn Films has abruptly postponed Son of Sardaar 2 from July 25 to August 1, 2025, just days before its scheduled premiere. While the production house kept mum on the cause, the internet is ablaze with theories that Saiyaara, the romantic drama taking the box office by storm, is the force behind this last-minute shuffle.

The announcement hit social media like a thunderbolt: “Jassi Paaji and his squad will now storm cinemas worldwide on August 1, 2025!” Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, Son of Sardaar 2 is the highly anticipated follow-up to the 2012 blockbuster Son of Sardaar, which starred Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha, and the late Mukul Dev, grossing an impressive ₹161.48 crore globally. Produced by Devgn, Jyoti Deshpande, N R Pachisia, and Pravin Talreja, the sequel boasts a fresh cast including Mrunal Thakur and Vindu Dara Singh, promising more laughs and chaos.

So, what sparked this delay? Fans are pointing to Saiyaara’s explosive debut. The Mohit Suri-directed romantic drama, backed by Yash Raj Films, smashed records with ₹21.25 crore on its opening day, claiming the biggest opening for a debutant-led film, Suri’s career-best launch, and the highest opening day for a love story.
