At the grand finale of Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI 2025, held on October 12 in New Delhi, Saiyaara actor Aneet Padda turned heads as the showstopper for renowned designer Tarun Tahiliani’s ‘Bejeweled’ collection. Dressed in a stunning golden beige ensemble adorned with intricate shimmering and crystal work, Padda’s poised and elegant walk embodied a seamless blend of traditional Indian craftsmanship and contemporary sophistication, leaving the audience in awe.
Tahiliani’s ‘Bejeweled’ collection, presented at the House of Lakme Grand Finale, celebrated India’s cultural heritage through a modern lens. The collection opened with striking black and gold armor-like jackets, kimonos, and jewel-printed bombers, transitioning into draped dresses, chiffons, and satins in rich jewel tones of emerald, aubergine, amethyst, and ruby.
Pearls featured prominently as belts, bags, and talismans, symbolizing treasures carried close to the body. The collection culminated in metallic crushed tissues and sculptural evening gowns in dull gold, rose, and silver, reflecting Tahiliani’s vision of “India Modern”—a fusion of heritage, Western construction, and fluid elegance. As the official Lakme Fashion Week Instagram described, “In Bejewelled, adornment becomes identity, the woman herself is the jewel.”
Tahiliani emphasized the collection’s cultural significance: “In India, we all are now very western, but in our tradition—think of your grandmother, mother, or rural India—they still wear bangles, tattoos, bindis, beautiful little things. It’s a very Indian thing, unlike anywhere else in the world. We mustn’t lose our Indianness.” He also praised Padda’s performance, noting her innocence and charm: “She’s very young, innocent, and beautiful… a wonderful brand ambassador for Lakme. She was so nervous backstage, I was making her take deep breaths. She was very sweet and charming.”

Padda, who rose to fame for her role in Mohit Suri’s romantic drama Saiyaara alongside Ahaan Panday, brought the same emotional depth to the runway that earned her acclaim on screen. The film, lauded for its performances and soulful music, has positioned Padda as a rising star in Bollywood, and her appearance at Lakme Fashion Week further solidified her presence in the spotlight.
The Lakme Fashion Week x FDCI, which ran from October 8 to October 12, showcased India’s finest designers and emerging talents, with Tahiliani’s grand finale serving as a fitting crescendo to the event’s celebration of creativity and craftsmanship.
