Actor Akshay Kumar has generated fresh buzz with the teaser of the first song from his upcoming horror-comedy Bhooth Bangla, with fans spotting an unexpected creative nod to legendary filmmaker Satyajit Ray. The track, titled “Ram Ji Aake Bhala Karenge,” showcases Kumar dancing and rapping while introducing a variety of ghosts, reviving the actor’s trademark comic style ahead of the film’s release.
Composed by Pritam, the song features playful lyrics in which Kumar names different types of ghosts such as “naar bhoot,” “mada bhoot,” “seedha bhoot,” and “sada bhoot,” among others. The quirky enumeration has drawn attention for its similarity in tone and structure to the iconic ghost-themed number “Bhooter Raja Dilo Bor,” prompting cinephiles to point out the apparent homage.
The reference traces back to Ray’s classic fantasy film Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne, where the celebrated song appears during a celebratory sequence featuring characters Goopy and Bagha. In that original composition, the characters similarly list different kinds of ghosts in praise of the benevolent King of Ghosts, creating a whimsical musical moment that has remained popular for decades.

Observers note that while Bhooth Bangla adopts a modern, comedic rap format, the lyrical device and thematic playfulness echo Ray’s earlier work, creating a bridge between classic Bengali cinema and contemporary Bollywood entertainment. The teaser suggests the film aims to blend nostalgia-driven humour with a fresh horror-comedy treatment.
Online reactions to the song have been largely enthusiastic, with many fans welcoming Kumar’s return to full-fledged comedy. Social media users described the teaser as a potential “chartbuster,” while others expressed excitement over the reunion between the actor and director Priyadarshan after nearly 16 years since their last collaboration on Khatta Meetha.
Bhooth Bangla is scheduled to hit theatres on April 10, 2026, earlier than its previously announced May release. The film features an ensemble cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Wamiqa Gabbi and Asrani, and is presented by Balaji Motion Pictures in association with Cape of Good Films.
