A lighthearted moment stole the spotlight at the Mumbai screening of Manoj Bajpayee’s upcoming film Jugnuma (The Fable), set for release on September 12. During a media interaction at the venue’s entrance, filmmaker Anurag Kashyap, alongside actors Vijay Varma and Jaideep Ahlawat, playfully touched Bajpayee’s feet, leaving the veteran actor visibly embarrassed yet amused. Kashyap even exaggerated the gesture, nearly bowing his head to Bajpayee’s feet, prompting laughter from those present.
Bajpayee, dressed in a brown jacket, trousers, and a printed shirt, attempted to stop the trio’s prank while navigating the moment with good humor. Varma and Ahlawat, sporting black and denim ensembles, added to the jovial atmosphere. The screening attracted several other celebrities, including Shriya Pilgaonkar, Piyush Mishra, Sayani Gupta, and Kritika Kamra, underscoring the film’s anticipation.
Directed by Ram Reddy and produced by Pratap Reddy, Sunmin Park, Raam Reddy, and Juhi Agarwal, with executive producers including Kashyap, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and others, Jugnuma is set in the late 1980s in the Indian Himalayas. The film follows Dev, played by Bajpayee, as he grapples with mysterious fires in his orchard estate, revealing deeper truths about himself and his family.
The cast includes Tillotama Shome, Deepak Dobriyal, Priyanka Bose, Awan Pookot, and Hiral Sidhu. The trailer, unveiled in August, has heightened excitement for this cinematic exploration of personal and familial discovery.
