BJP MP and actor Kangana Ranaut has criticised yoga guru Baba Ramdev over his remarks about women, saying he has “crossed every boundary of decency” and needs to reconsider his views. Ranaut's latest comments come amid an escalating public exchange between the two following her controversial “Generation Gutter” remark, which had triggered criticism from several quarters. Ranaut said Ramdev's comments about women were inappropriate and accused him of making personal remarks against her.
She argued that his statements had gone beyond acceptable limits and said they had brought disrepute to the saffron robes associated with him. Ranaut also suggested that Ramdev should reflect on the way he speaks about women and the broader implications of his remarks. “As for Baba Ramdev, he has crossed every boundary of decency,” Ranaut said, alleging that his comments about a woman had shamed society. She further criticised what she described as his perspective towards women and said he needed to reflect on it.
Ranaut maintained that remarks directed at her were personal attacks and alleged that some comments were intended to gain publicity by targeting her. The latest confrontation follows a dispute over Ranaut's use of the phrase “Generation Gutter” while criticising protesters at Jantar Mantar. Her remarks attracted widespread backlash, including from people in the entertainment industry and public life. Ramdev also objected publicly to her characterisation of the younger generation, adding another prominent voice to the criticism surrounding her statement.

The disagreement subsequently developed into a direct public exchange between Ranaut and Ramdev. Earlier, in a post on Instagram, Ranaut had also claimed that she had a “better personality” than the yoga guru. Her latest remarks represent a further escalation, with the BJP MP now directly questioning Ramdev's conduct and comments concerning women. Ranaut has frequently attracted controversy over outspoken comments on social and political issues, both as an actor and as a parliamentarian.
Her statements have often generated strong reactions from supporters and critics alike. The dispute with Ramdev has similarly drawn attention because both figures have significant public profiles and have expressed strong views on social and cultural issues. Ramdev's criticism of the “Generation Gutter” remark had originally focused on Ranaut's description of young protesters. Ranaut's response has now shifted the focus toward what she considers inappropriate comments about women.
She has argued that public figures should be mindful of the language they use, particularly when speaking about or addressing women. The continuing exchange has added another layer to the controversy surrounding Ranaut's original remarks. While Ranaut has defended her position and intensified her criticism of Ramdev, the yoga guru's earlier objections helped bring wider attention to the dispute. The episode has since evolved into a public disagreement involving questions of language, personal criticism and expectations of decency in public discourse.
