Speculation is growing around a possible third installment in the Dhurandhar franchise following recent remarks from a senior studio executive, even as earlier statements from cast members suggested the series might have concluded. The spy thriller series, led by actor Ranveer Singh and directed by Aditya Dhar, has become one of the most commercially successful recent Bollywood franchises.
The discussion around Dhurandhar 3 gained momentum after Jio Studios co-producer Jyoti Deshpande hinted that the makers are preparing a “surprise” for audiences later this year. While she did not confirm a third film, she stated that the franchise is “not done yet,” fueling speculation that another instalment or related project may be in development.
Her comments contrast with earlier remarks from veteran actor Rakesh Bedi, who suggested that a direct sequel may not currently be planned. He noted that while the Dhurandhar brand could continue in different forms or with new actors, the story arc of the existing narrative appears to have reached a conclusion with the spy’s return to his homeland.

The Dhurandhar films have been among the highest-grossing recent releases in Indian cinema. The first film reportedly released on December 5, 2025, followed by its sequel Dhurandhar: The Revenge in March. Together, the films have drawn massive box office attention, with reports claiming combined global earnings running into thousands of crores, driven by strong audience turnout and positive reception for its action-heavy storytelling.
Set against a backdrop of espionage and geopolitical tension, the franchise follows Ranveer’s character Hamza Ali Mazari, an Indian intelligence officer who infiltrates criminal networks in Pakistan. The sequel explores his origin story and transformation into a covert operative. The ensemble cast also includes actors such as Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Sara Arjun, and Akshaye Khanna.
While no official confirmation of Dhurandhar 3 has been made, the mixed signals from cast and production teams have kept audience expectations high. Industry observers say the franchise’s strong commercial performance gives its creators multiple options, whether in the form of a direct sequel, spin-off, or expanded cinematic universe.
