Actor Imran Khan has revealed that a mental health scare became a major turning point in his life, forcing him to reassess his choices and make conscious changes to prioritize his well-being. In a recent interview with The Times of India, Imran opened up about the period when he realized that things were not right mentally or emotionally, describing the experience as a “wake-up call.”
The actor, who stepped away from the film industry over a decade ago, said the scare pushed him to treat his mental health with the same seriousness people often reserve for physical health crises. “I had a mental health scare. You know, people have health scares. Suddenly something goes wrong, and they decide to change their diet or lifestyle. I had a mental health scare, and I looked at my life and said, "None of this is right." I have to address this consciously,” Imran said.

Drawing a parallel with physical illness, the actor explained that the experience made him realize mental health requires deliberate care and attention. “The way you start caring for your body if you suddenly have a health issue, I realized I had to engage with my mental health consciously,” he added.
Imran Khan had famously distanced himself from the film industry after not receiving the kind of roles he had hoped for. During his time away from the limelight, he went through a divorce and quietly dealt with his mental health struggles.
The actor’s candid remarks have resonated with many fans, as conversations around mental health continue to gain visibility. By speaking openly about his experience, Imran highlighted the importance of recognizing warning signs early and making intentional changes to protect one’s mental well-being.
